Water for Elephants Premiere!

As you all know, this weekend Water for Elephants hit the movies theaters.  This movie has caused quite the frenzy here in the Chattanooga area.  With the filming that happened in Chickamauga last year, Rob Pattinson being here, and most recently, the Chattanooga Times Free Press' Premiere event, it has been quite the whirlwind for everyone.

I had the privilege a month ago to actually go into the house where all the filming was in Chickamauga.  One of my dearest clients is part owner of the house and land.  She had contacted me when word first spread of the filming about doing photos there once all had died down.  And finally it was time.  If you haven't had the chance to check out the photos we did at the house...Be sure to do so.  Here's the link.

Now for the premiere.

My friend, Amanda of Urso Photography, contacted me a week ago about doing paparazzi style photography for the Water for Elephants premiere.  Of course, even with my crazy busy schedule lately, I said yes!  I mean, how can you turn down the opportunity to be VIP for a day?  And with the history I already had with the movie, I was completely stoked.

The day started with me and Amanda carpooling to downtown Chattanooga to the Majestic where Chattanooga Times Free Press had blocked off the roads, laid a red carpet, and fully prepped the area for some VIP treatment.

We met up with our friend, Hillary of Hillary Maddox Photography, where we got our VIP passes and then, the photo fun began.

The theater had an outside area blocked off for the VIPs, completely stocked with couches, tvs, drinks, food, you name it.  It was celebrity treatment.

I was sure to grab a few shots of all the details for you guys so ya'll could experience it too!

During all the set up and when I had arrived at the theater, people were already crowded around!  Maybe for the excitement of the movie, maybe to see the circus performers, but I think that everyone secretly thought Rob or Reese were going to show up.  It was fun to see everyone there waiting in anticipation.

Even though Rob nor Reese was there, the crowd got quite the show!  Aerial performers, flame twirler, clowns, it was a night of excitement!

Now, I had a blast photographing every aspect of this event, but the Aerial dancers, now that was fun!

And who better to start with than one of the stars of the movie...Scott MacDonald who played Blackie in the film.

These 2 little cuties were in the film too!  They were in the background at the end of the movie at the Chickamauga house.  I won't indulge into the plot, just in case you haven't seen it.

Now for some faces you might recognize.

He does wedding videography and from what I've seen on his website, he's the one you want to film your wedding!

It was an absolute blast taking these photos and being treated like VIP.  If you haven't had the opportnity to see the movie, I recommend it.  I loved the old circus feel to the whole movie!

Walked the red carpet and didn't see your photo on my blog?
No worries.

Thanks for stopping by and props to you if you took the time to read this extremely long blog!
